Each Wednesday, at 2pm, we have a math seminar. The current goal of the seminar is to provide our majors with some exposure to several different applications of mathematics.

From Ben: We will talk briefly about the reading assignment on cryptography. Mostly, I want you to see one very crucial application of abstract algebra that affects your everyday life. It's OK if you don't understand all the things mentioned in that reading assignment.

I would love to have someone present each of the following: If you are ready to present one, feel free to click "edit" and add your name to the list below (to several problems is fine, if you are ready with each). It is perfectly possible to have more than one person listed below, and I'll decide in class who gets to present it. Kristeena, I believe it's your turn to present something, so feel free to claim whichever you want.

  • 11 - Joseph
  • 12 - Vlad
